Gently reflective outing from Rilo Kiley front woman Lewis and there’s more than hint of Lennon’s Mind Games in both the simple piano melody and the embittered mood. It’s all the better for it too. Lyrically the song's a tender attack on relationship frailties as well as an attempt at ‘being there’ for someone in need. It’s not the most obvious choice for a single but this fragile lineage stretches through everyone from Tammy Wynette to REM and a thousand others in between. Sound soppy? Love’s a complicated thing, man.
